“Facebook Messenger” launched: dedicated messaging app | It’s All Tech

Earlier today, Facebook announced Facebook Messenger, an Android and iOS app that allows users to send messages and texts using the social network. The app is focused around real-time communication and simplifying sending messages to groups of people.

The app grabs contacts from both your phone and your Facebook friends list. It is considered an “extension of Facebook messages,” meaning all of your conversations are in one place. Facebook Messenger allows you to send messages to groups of people and add your location if you’d like.

The app is available on both the iOS App Store and the Android Market beginning today.

Are you planning to at least try this app? itunes link, android marketplace link
