The Police Are Using Minority Report Technology to Fight Bad Guys

Its not all the way sophisticated like the precogs of Minority Report but the San Francisco Police Department have left their no Internet having, no email using days behind them and upgraded to a much more sophisticated system thatll help em nab more criminals.Buzzfeed FWD took a look at the police app that SFPD will be using which allows the officers to upload images, scan license plates, dictate notes, capture interviews, pin location points and do all of it in real time. The database is constantly updated so that police officers can work together in predicting where the criminals will end up next. Its fighting crime with data. Or as the SFPD put it, using the “bat computer”.

This Website Is Telling the World Your Dirty Public Facebook Secrets

The notion of a private secret sounds contradictory, but in the Facebook Age, it makes sad sense. Theres a whole horde of uninformed FB users who broadcast their weed smoking and boss hating for the entire internet. Read it here.Due to years of simultaneously trying to simplify privacy settings and urging us to share more, Facebooks population is confused. Savvy users know how to share certain things with certain people and make the rest public if they wish, but as Weknowwhatyouredoing.com makes clear, plenty of people have no idea what theyre doing. If they did, they wouldnt be posting public Facebook statuses about how much they hate their job, what a dick their boss is, how hungover they are, and how much they love drugs.

Apples Next iPhone Home Page Will Probably Look Like This

Get used to this. Come October, it could be Apples home page for the entire winter. Gizmodo reader Martin Hajek has rendered new images of the new iPhone 2012—or iPhone 5, or, most probably just iPhone—to make it look like bona fide Apple eye candy.I wasnt in love with the rumored next generation iPhones design until I saw these images—created in 3D using allegedly leaked photos and videos of different parts— showing how a finished unit would look in real life.

If this rumor turn out to be true. I have to say I’m not very excited about the new iPhone to be released, but then again it’s apple and you never know what they’re going to do.

This Baby Had a Peach-Sized Tumor Removed With Lasers While in the Womb

This Baby Had a Peach-Sized Tumor Removed With Lasers While in the Womb

This is Leyna Gonzalez. When her mother was just 17 weeks pregnant, this ultrasound scan revealed that she had a tumour the size of a peach growing from her mouth. The only way to save her was to remove it while she was still in the womb—a procedure that had never been performed before. The tumor, a fetal oral teratoma, affects fewer than one in 100,000 pregnancies, reports the Guardian. Leynas parents were told they could abort the pregnancy, or that they could wait for her to grow, until she was developed enough to be born. But the risks involved meant she would probably experience fatal bleeding upon delivery because of the tumor. They begged the doctors for another solution.

iCloud: The ultimate guide | iMore

iCloud is Apple’s online service designed to make managing your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Apple TV, and your iTunes content easier and more automatic than ever. Like the name implies, iCloud is based in the “cloud”, which is a trendy way of saying giant data centers filled with servers that you can access from your device over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G internet, wherever you are, whenever you want. It consists of several services that work with the apps on your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and with iTunes and a handful of desktop apps on Mac and Windows. Most iCloud services are completely free, although additional storage and services are available for purchase.

Because the vast majority of iCloud services are free, and because they work automatically and transparently in the background to backup your data and give you access to your content, you should absolutely use it.
