Can You Find the Two Camouflaged Commandos in This Photo Before They Shoot You?

The Egoz recon unit of the Israeli Defense Force is trained is an elite group trained in guerilla tactics. Sometimes they operate in cities. But sometimes, as seen above, they hide on the hills. Watching. Waiting. They’re very, very good.

If it takes you more than a few seconds to spot both of the soldiers here, blending in among a rocky patch of northern Israel—too bad! They’ve probably already killed you. No hard feelings.

Hunting Down My Son’s Killer

I found my son’s killer. It took three years. But we did it. I should clarify one point: my son is very much alive. Yet, my wife Cristina and I have been found responsible for his death.

My son Bertrand has a new genetic disorder. Patient 0. To find it, a team of scientists at Duke University used whole-exome sequencing (a protein-focused variant of whole-genome sequencing) on me, my wife and my son.

Gang Members Accept Cops Friend Request, Get Arrested, Are Idiots

The first rule of Brooklyns notorious Brower Boys gang is: You dont talk about the Brower Boys gang. The second is: Unless its on Facebook, then its totally fine. Oh, but maybe accept a cops friend request before you do?Welcome to the latest edition of criminals being idiots on Facebook. Its maybe the best one yet.The Brower Boys, a gaggle of wayward youths who committed everything from burglary to sexual assault, had made Brooklyns Crown Heights their stomping ground for the last year. And, as teenagers so often do, they bragged about their exploits on Facebook. Bragged here meaning “posted video of,” and exploits being “robbing the hell out of people.”None of which would have gotten them in trouble, necessarily, had they bothered to form a Brower Boys Group or maybe Google+ circle? for limited sharing. Or if they hadnt accepted the friend request of NYPD officer Michael Rodriguez. Who needs an informant when youve got a newsfeed?

Just a Thought!

I appreciate all of the love people have been showing me lately regarding my blog. It’s very interesting to see how people have reacted and/or appreciates the content. My blog is meant to give people a glimpse of what I find interesting as I travel through the interweb, and trust me I find a lot of things interesting. Things that make ME go hmmm! Or even WTF! Or simply a random thought from time to time. Hopefully it will give you a glimpse of who I am. It should give you an idea of the things that makes me stop to think as I travel the interweb. Mostly is about sharing my likes and dislikes. Hopefully along the way you might see something you might not have seen before or even something that will make you stop and think for a second or two. Maybe, just maybe even make you smile or possibly even laugh a bit (LOL).

Anyway, I thought I would say hey! to all you who have recently joined me on my walkabout through the interweb! I hope you will continue to find it interesting. If you do tell a friend if you don’t, well there’s always tomorrow.

Either way thanks for coming along for the ride!

Killjoy Scientists Have Bred the Fun Out of Medical Marijuana

Weed is a double-edged sword. On one hand, its cannabidiol CBD compounds ease the symptoms of many diseases. On the other, its tetrahydrocannabinol THC compounds produces feelings of euphoria and calm. Luckily, the Tikkun Olam company has figured out how to strip those nasty THC side effects while retaining the CBDs healing properties. Um, thanks?

$1800 Gets You Sneakers Made From Stingrays Customized Through Genetic Engineering

$1,800 is a lot of money to spend on a single pair of shoes. But a company called Rayfish Footwear has come up with a unique manufacturing process that’s even more over-the-top than what it’s charging for its creations: It’s genetically-engineering stingrays for their skins.

The company claims that no two sneakers it produces are alike, and each stingray is grown specifically for each pair. Clients can choose from 29 different styles of stingray leather, combining up to nine different patterns for a truly unique design. Once they’ve made their selections, the DNA from each patterns is then combined and used to create a new stingray that’s grown to maturity before being harvested to make the sneakers.

Why Women Date Weaklings

Common knowledge dictates that girls dig guys with muscles. However, new research suggests that women gave up on bulging biceps and strong jawlines long ago, in favor of qualities like loyalty and generosity. In other words, the scrawny geek gets the gal.

The research, which was conducted at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and is published in PNAS, used mathematical models to get to the bottom of when humans first started living in monogamous relationships. The study suggests that the rise of weaker males—or Beta males, if you prefer—began far earlier than suspected. In fact, Beta males started to become a hit with the ladies not long after humans started living in large social groups.

Picture of Cash Posted on Facebook Leads to Home Robbery

Some people who use Facebook are dumb. Like a 17-year-old Australian girl who posted a picture of a massive pile of cash to her Facebook account and was then shocked when, just hours later, her house was broken into and the money demanded from her.

Apparently, the 17-year-old was helping her grandmother to count her savings—ever thought of using a bank instead?—when she decided to take a picture of what she herself described as a “large sum of cash”. The image was posted at 4pm and by 11:30pm the same day a pair of masked men forced their way into the girl’s home.

Fortunately, the image was posted from a different location, so the pair couldn’t find the cash in question. Instead, they made off with a small sum of money and some personal belongings from the home. Luckily, nobody was injured.

It’s not certain how the pair got hold of the girl’s address but, given her posting tendencies, it seems likely that she’s published the details online. The whole thing does, at least, serve as a great reminder that posting images of high-value items on Facebook when your address is also publicly available is obviously a really, really dumb idea. Airplanes Are Getting Wider Aisle Seats That Will Cost You More Money

Airbus is in talks with US airlines to make planes with aisle seats that are extra wide, “almost as wide as a first class seat.” That sounds comfortable but it comes with some tradeoffs, the middle and window seat would have to shrink and the aisle seat is going to get more expensive. These wider seats will likely be implemented in the Airbus A320 the single aisle plane and will turn the aisle seats to 20-inches wide. Currently, all three seats are 18-inches wide. If this change is put into place, well have the 20-inch room on the aisle and 17-inch seats for the middle and window. Airbus estimates that airlines will charge a $10 fee for the extra room in the aisle seats. Which isnt exactly offensive but just another instance of airline nickel and diming. I’m sure tall people, fat people, people who appreciate comfort and people who use the restroom a lot will spring for the aisle seats. Dad Creates Fake Porn Site Profile for Principal Who Confiscated Sons iPod

When an assistant principal confiscated his 13-year-old sons iPod, Robert Dale Esparza Jr. did what any responsible parent would: He started a fake profile under the principals name on a hardcore porn site, and impersonated him via email. Yep!Frank Hendricsen, the assistant principal, allegedly confiscated the sons iPod last year, but denied to inquiring detectives that he had. It was never found. But that didnt stop the audacious Mr. Esparza from going Santorum Bomb on Hendricsen. He started the porno profile, and then populated it with both pictures from the school website—including shots of Hendricsens wife—and then uploaded dozens of hardcore porn videos to go along with them.
