Would Apple name the new iPad 3 the iPad HD? According to alleged part listings from Griffin and Belkin, this may be the case. The product name is a good match for the its new Retina-like display.
Apple is reportedly planning to launch a smaller version of its popular iPad tablet that will enter production during the third quarter this year at the earliest. DigiTimes on Thursday reported that Apple’s scaled-down iPad is already being assembled by the company’s manufacturing partners. Samples are currently being delivered to Apple for verification and volume production is rumored to begin in the third quarter. The new tablet will feature a 7.85-inch display to compete with Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble’s Nook Tablet, and pricing is expected to fall in the $249 to $299 range according to DigiTimes’s sources. The iPad 3 will be announced on March 7th. Apple has just sent out invitations for an Apple event in San Francisco at 10AM PST on Wednesday March 7th. The invitation not so subtly hints at the Retina Display becoming a reality in the iPad 3.
Remember the defendant in that fraud case who was prepared to claim she forgot the password to her laptop if ordered to decrypt it? Adding some more intrigue to the matter is the fact that the 11th Circuit Court says defendants wont have to decrypt drives if the contents are unknown. Huh?The Fifth Amendment, of course, prevents any citizen from having to incriminate themselves, and in the case of Ramona Fricosu and her computer, her appeal was shot down by the 10th Circuit court. But in the latest ruling, The Verge says that the court contends that handing over the drive is fine, but the decrypting aspect counts as testimony. And testimony falls under the umbrella of the Fifth. But Fricosus case might be a bit different since the court already had testimony about the computers contents, and thus had some idea what was on there.
