iPhone 6 Specs: Bigger 4.7-inch display with HD resolution coming | BGR

It looks like iPhone 6 rumors have already kicked into high gear. It hasn’t even been three weeks since Apple’s record-smashing iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c debut, but the rumor mill has already moved on to bigger and better things. And by “bigger,” we quite literally mean “bigger.” A new report from well-respected Apple analyst Peter Misek on Monday suggested that Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 will sport a larger 4.8-inch display. The addition of a bigger screen on Apple’s next iPhone would be a pretty huge deal for Apple, and it would also be a direct response to the larger screens that are now commonplace on Android-powered iPhone rivals. Now, just one day later, another solid report suggests Apple’s next flagship iPhone will indeed feature a bigger display.

According to DisplaySearch analyst David Hsieh, Apple is toying with two different display sizes for its upcoming iPhone 6. Both feature more standard high-definition resolution than Apple’s current Retina displays, which would be a welcome change for many people. Hsieh’s report, which is based on his research in Apple’s supply chain, suggests that the company is testing both a 4.7-inch panel with 1,280 x 720-pixel resolution and a 5.7-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution.

Nuclear Fusion Has Broken Even For the First Time Ever

Nuclear fusion, the same process that powers the sun, could provide us with limitless cheap energy—but experiments to date have always used more power than they created. Now, though, researchers have apparently tipped that balance, making fusion a real possibility.Researchers at the National Ignition Facility in Livermore, California, have been conducting fusion experiments for some time. Using 192 beams from the worlds most powerful laser, they heat and compress a small pellet of hydrogen fuel until nuclear fusion reactions take place. Usually, they have to dump more power in using the lasers than they manage to create from the fusion reaction.

Watch This Girl With Telekinetic Powers Freak Out Coffee Shop Patrons

This absolutely amazing and terrifying prank, where a girl with telekinetic powers appears to freak out in a coffee shop, is actually a publicity stunt for the upcoming remake of the film Carrie. But that doesnt make it any less entertaining or awesome. Make sure you watch it all the way through, too, it just gets better and better.Using everything from fake walls, to hidden pulleys, to remote control tables, to even spring-loaded shelves full of books, the customers stopping by this innocent looking cafe have no idea theyre about to witness a girl with telekinetic powers lose control after a stranger knocks over her drink. And by stranger we of course mean fellow actor, but the terrified patrons dont know that.If the Carrie remake is half as entertaining as this video is, well definitely be there on opening night—although we probably cant say the same for the terrified folks in these clips. Apple iPhone 5s vs. HTC One: Which phone should you get? | iMore

The iPhone 5s is the latest, greatest new handset from Apple, and while the HTC One may not be the latest Android handset on the market, by many accounts, its still the greatest. Unlike many of its Android competitors, it has build quality to rival Apples, including a similar penchant for aluminium, but also the very Android-like and not very Apple-like big screen to go with it. HTC has a reputation for pushing specs to the limit, while Apple has a reputation for pushing experience over specs. Both are fantastic, but the question is – which is the more fantastic for you? click below to read full article

NASAs Curiosity Rover Just Found Water in Martian Soil

Just when you thought ol Curiosity was digging in for the winter, the little discovery machine came up with a doozy: It discovered water in Martian soil. NASA scientists just published five papers in Science detailing the experiments that led to the discovery. Thats right. Theres water on Mars.Impressive as it is, though, the discovery comes with some caveats. Its not like Curiosity stumbled on a lost lake under a mountain or a stream trickling across the landscape. Rather, it found water molecules bound to other minerals in Martian soil. Theres kind of a lot of it, too. Researchers say that every cubic foot of Martian soil contains about two pints of liquid water. All things told, about two percent of the Martian soil is made of up water.”We tend to think of Mars as this dry place—to find water fairly easy to get out of the soil at the surface was exciting to me,” Laurie Leshin, dean of science at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, told The Guardian. She also explained how the discovery was made. Curiosity picked up and sieved a scoop of soil from the surface before dropping it into an on-board oven. “We heat [the soil] up to 835C and drive off all the volatiles and measure them,” she said. “We have a very sensitive way to sniff those and we can detect the water and other things that are released.”  [click below for more…]
