The Miracle Drug That Kills All Cancers

It sounds like science fiction, but researchers have discovered a single drug that they think can shrink, or even completely cure, all human tumors. But how does a drug like that work, and when will it be available? An article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science explains that a new treatment—based on an antibody that blocks a “do not eat” signal normally displayed on tumor cells—helps persuade the immune system to destroy the cancer cells. To date, its been shown to shrink or cure human breast, ovary, colon, bladder, brain, liver, and prostate tumors that have been transplanted into mice.

Ford Police Interceptors

When we visited Ford back in September 2011 for an exclusive preview of their new “Police Interceptors”, we felt the story wasnt complete without getting behind the wheel, which we finally had the opportunity to do. The Sedan and the first pursuit-rated Utility available represent a thoughtful and considered approach to designing cars specifically for law enforcement use. We sat down at Fords headquarters in Dearborn, MI with Lisa Teed, the Marketing Manager for the Police Interceptor line, and Mike Interian, the lines Vehicle Integration Engineer. We learned about the difficulty of designing a purpose-built machine to service one of the most specialized jobs on the market.

Pasco man in jail for calling 911 because wife wouldn’t leave him alone – Tampa Bay Times

Doyle Hardwick found himself back at the Land O’Lakes jail this week, this time for 60 days, all because he wanted to check his Facebook page in peace.

The trouble began brewing the evening of Sept. 24, as Hardwick plied his wife with beer, hoping she would go to bed. She drank. And drank. But didn’t feel like going to sleep. So he called 911.

How Long Does Your LTE iPad Data Allowance Last?

With a new LTE-enabled iPad in your mits, the internet is your oyster. At least, for a few days—because reports are already popping up that its insanely easy to burn through a generous data allowance in mere hours thanks to that ultra-fast data connection. The Wall Street Journal reports, for instance, that for some unlucky basketball fans, two hours of March Madness was enough to eat through a two gigabyte allowance. No doubt plenty of users are managing to zip through their data quotas in a similar way—and hitting the limit means stumping up somewhere around $10 a gigabyte for the rest of the month. Brandon Wells, interviewed in the WSJ piece, sums it up well:
