Chris Upgrades His Kitchen Cabinets with IKEA Drawer Pull-Outs Kitchen Improvement Project | The Kitchn

It is essential to be organized in the kitchen. Cooking can be stressful enough as it is. Who needs the extra frustration of shuffling through cabinets searching for the next ingredient? My wife and I solved our own storage dilemma once and for all by converting all of our lower kitchen cabinets — originally outfitted as cabinets with regular doors — into cupboards made of drawers. Now finding things couldn’t be easier.

My wife and I are big organizers in our home, always looking for ways to make the process of finding and using things more streamlined. We of course brought this philosophy into our kitchen—having a cabinet for the flours, and a cabinet for the oils and vinegars, and so on—but it wasn’t enough. The problem was the lower kitchen cabinets themselves, as they required you to crouch down and take the cooking ingredients through a few rounds of musical chairs before finding what you needed. There’s the sherry vinegar!

Did You Know You Can Use a Tablet Stylus With the Apple MacBook? | Apartment Therapy

The Macbook Air and the Macbook Pro are both known for their best in class touch pad. Accurate and smooth to the touch, nothing really compares. Love your Macbook touch pad? Find even more reasons to love it and pick up a stylus, for tablet style pen input on your Mac.A little known fact about the Macbook touch pad is that it uses similar capacitive touch detection to the iPad and iPhone. This means that any stylus meant for use with the iPad or any capacitive tablet can easily turn your Macbook touch pad into a small, but effective drawing tablet. I was able to pick up a capacitive stylus from the local dollar store for cheap, but most computer stores offer decent rubber tipped stylus at an affordable price.

Samsung mobile web presence increases, still trails iPhone

While the Galaxy S III is helping Samsung (005930) grow its presence on the mobile web, the company is still well behind Apple (AAPL) when it comes to usage. Mobile ad firm Chitika has released new numbers showing that the Galaxy S III’s share of overall Samsung ad impressions in North America has risen significantly since its initial release, jumping from less than 3% on June 18th to over 11% on August 6th.

Chitika says that the Galaxy S III “has quickly surpassed the Galaxy Nexus in activity, and is hot on the tails of other Galaxy S models” and “is likely that adoption of the device will continue to increase in the future as the holiday season approaches and Android aficionados upgrade their phones.”

But even with the surge in Galaxy S III mobile Web use, Samsung as a whole still only generates roughly one-fourth as many mobile ad impressions in North America as Apple does with its assorted iPhone models. Despite this disparity, Chitika says that Samsung remains “the iPhone’s closest challenger for the coveted top spot” in mobile ad impressions, and says the companies’ rivalry will be “one of the most intriguing contests in the smartphone market this year.”

iPhone 5 specs: 7.6mm thick, thinner than Galaxy S III and HTC One S

Apple’s (AAPL) next-generation iPhone, a mock-up of which is pictured above, will reportedly be one of the thinnest smartphones in the world when it launches next month. According to a report from Chinese blog Apple.pro, Taiwan-based paper Apple Daily recently published a lengthy piece about Apple’s “iPhone 5″ including purported final measurements of the device.

The report states that the dimensions of Apple’s next iPhone will come to 58.47 millimeters wide by 123.83 millimeters long by 7.6 millimeters thick. That final stat would make the iPhone a full 1 millimeter thinner than the Samsung (005930) Galaxy S III, and 0.2 millimeters thinner than HTC’s (2498) remarkably thin One S.

Since iPhone housings and other components have been finding their way into the hands of various parts distributors and examined on video several times, it is likely that these specs are indeed accurate, though nothing is confirmed until Apple unveils the new iPhone during a press conference on September 12th. The sixth-generation iPhone is then expected to launch a week later on September 21st, featuring a 4-inch display, an integrated 4G LTE radio and NFC connectivity.

The “Endeavour C2″ has been tagged for a September release, meaning HTC will likely announced it around the same time that Nokia NOK announces its first Windows Phone 8 smartphones and Apple AAPL announces its next-generation iPhone.
